I'd never heard this before, but it seems like he'd be too old for the role. He's 5 years older than Michael Richards, 10 older than Seinfeld and 15 older than JLD and Jason Alexander. Richards already seems a little old compared to the rest, and George was supposed to be Jerry's old friend from growing up. I don't know, it just would have been a very different show with Danny.

True, Bodhi Corner is still there. Probably the best Thai in Baltimore. I guess I never think about it as a sit-down option. I only get take out there.

There are a bunch of restaurants, but since Food Market became meh, I don’t know one where I can reliably expect to get a good meal.

I’ve lived in Baltimore for more than 10 years and I had to look up what Whitehall Mill even was. I recognize it now from driving past, but it’s something I was only vaguely aware even had anything in there. They need better marketing.

Damn, sorry to hear it's gone. I used to go there when I lived in the area but had forgotten it existed.

If the vibe you're talking about is "I may die in a fire in this place", I agree. Maybe it was just because it was one of the first places I went out after Covid lockdowns, but I legit felt unsafe in that space.

The absolute worst beer I've ever tasted in my life was a Full Tilt pear sour. I still get grossed out thinking about it. Tasted like straight-up vomit.
Not that I want to see the place close over it, though.

I gave up looking for a good local cheesesteak and now when I want one I just go to Jersey Mike’s and order double meat.

I rented from Urban Phoenix and they were always quite good, and really saved my ass by not taking my deposit for some damage they classified as wear and tear when it could have been blamed on me. Their properties are mostly in the Pigtown/Hollins Market area (or at least they were back when I rented from them).

Yeah, there's really not a huge financial upside to rehabbing a vacant vs. starting over from scratch. It's one of the reasons the vacant problem in the city is so intractable. It just doesn't make financial sense to rehab them.

Very obviously true. Arcadia's write-up says "lots of bars." There are two, both in restaurants, and both close early. I love my 'hood, but nightlife is not its strength.

Yeah, Rob Reiner put this whole mini genre together, including the cast that kept showing up in the later Guest movies. He deserves credit for that (and he's also hilarious acting in Spinal Tap).

The Food Market was fucking incredible for a long time after it opened in 2012. Whenever I've gone there over the last 4-5 years, it's definitely lost its edge. I can't even really pinpoint what the issue is, but the magic is gone. It used to legit be one of the best restaurants in the city though.
