This may be a long shot, but I had something that sounds really similar, also in the 70s. It was 18 books and called a Children's Treasury of Fairy Tales.
Good luck!

Reply to Heidi book review. by Certified_Cichlid
I read Heidi as a teen (30+ years ago) so I don't recall very much of it except for this impression: there was a recurring thing where it talked about what she ate every day and I remember being very concerned that she was going to die of scurvy because there were no fruits or vegetables in her diet.
Yes, I was a weird kid who worried about strange things.

Any relation to the John Ashcroft who was so offended by the breast of Justice that he made his staff cover her up?

Also, Harry is anywhere from 6'5" to nearly 8' tall depending on the book

Reply to The Fifth Season and first person narrative really threw me off. by apocalypschild
I had some trouble with the second person narrative and ended up switching to audiobooks. Having the books read to me by someone using "you" rather than reading it myself in my head made it so much easier to follow and fall into the story. Mileage differs of course, but I'm so glad I did. It's a beautiful, heartbreaking story
