Reply to Just moved to IPhone after a Decade on Android - Here is what I like… and don’t by ContractorCarrot
The second sim can be solved really easily by making your primary an esim.
As for the back button, you’ll get used to swiping before you know it. I’ve only had an iPhone for four years and it didn’t take long to transition at all.
A little trick for typing. I think that you have to enable it but I’m not sure. Try double tapping the space bar when you want a period. If it doesn’t work, you might need to go into settings.

I love my watch for these reasons. Especially when I’m home alone I like to have something with me. (They also have fall alert as well.) Toddler-induced sleep deprivation and pregnancy will also destroy your memory and I ping my phone with my watch until I find where I have hidden it (or the toddler did). Also, I hope that you’re on the mend!
As for OP’s question: I use it for controlling our home system (including lights and thermostats), sending messages when my hands are full via my watch, and perhaps most importantly adding groceries to the shared groceries list in reminders.

Considering there are no software updates for it, I would not touch that phone. Like Chemicalsam said, get the SE. It’s going to be supported for way longer, isn’t going to potentially compromise your data, and will be a solid phone for a good few years. Using a phone that hasn’t gotten updates in years is quite frankly dangerous.
That being said, having switched from Android four years ago: enjoy! The hardware is great, it works together, and it’s just fun to use. There are some great threads here too about fun tricks (one of my favourite is that if you accidentally delete something, shake your phone and it will ask you if you want to undo what you just did).

It sounds like you were being a good friend.
If anyone should be writing this in TIFU it should be your former friend after everything comes crashing down because she decided to quit being friends with you and be offended by solid advice.

OP should label their phone before Tim does.

Please don’t think that this was a FU. You taught her valuable skills and empowered her to get out of a situation where she was very likely unsafe. And now the authorities are involved whereas they wouldn’t have been before.
The mother is trying to blame you because it’s actually their fault, not yours. Just think if you hadn’t taught her those skills. If she had still escaped, she would have been even more unprepared or maybe stayed in a more urban setting which can be also very dangerous.

I used to love Sorel and I grew up wearing their boots. One of the best things about them was being able to replace the liners which they don’t even sell them anymore. I wish that they had never sold.

That’s the exact reason why we just bought a Brother printer. Considering how often we use it, it made the most sense and we’re not tied to some cash grab subscription program.

I also had the xs and am now on the 13 mini. Hopefully I can keep my phone until they come to their senses and being back the mini.
Aside from better usability for me I also love that it actually fits in my pocket. At this point, anything bigger would be a major disappointment. I don’t went to feel like I’m using an iPad instead of a phone.

They’ve had fall alert since the Series 4 but I’m not 100% sure if the SE has it. The 8 even has crash detection and a lot of really neat health features (ECG and blood oxygen). I know that most doctors do take the readings pretty seriously. Recently someone very close to me had some heart issues, did some ECGs and then went to the hospital. They were taken a lot more seriously and even admitted.
