In the name of the Father. Brilliant film featuring fantastic performances by Day Lewis and the late Pete Poselthwaite

Ritchson obviously looked the part and gives a good performance too. But I think Cruise in the first film really nailed the cool confidence of Reacher.

Reply to Are there any movies with frequent flashbacks that were shot in chronological order? by JesusIsMyZoloft
The two part french film Mesrine is based on the life of a notorious french gangster. The two films cover his life over the course of about 30 years. Film one being during his twenties and film 2 being in his 30s/40s. The films were shot in reverse chronological order. This was to allow Vincent Casselle to manage his weight easier. Starting out playing the older overweight Mesrine and then gradually losing the weight as he was playing the younger Mesrine. Taking the weight off in a controlled rate was easier than putting it on apparently.

>Thing, and MacReady is indeed having that conversation with a being that doesn't even understand what a noose is. Brilliant to create that kind of ambiguity.
Given the way the other characters that have been replaced act it seems that the Thing also acquires the knowledge of whatever it assimilates. (Otherwise it couldn't perfectly imitate the behaviour to fool the others). So if Blair was The Thing at that point it knew what a noose was. And if it's still just Blair then him ignoring it still makes sense. So a thing imitating him and ignoring it wouldn't be giving itself away since its consistent with Blair's previous behaviour.

The book the film is based on doesn't give much detail on the calamity that has hit the world. Just that it's raining ash most of the time. Given the focus of the story we don't need to know that. (And many people find that more evocative and interesting)

You've got a pretty heavy narcissistic vibe going alright.
Also since you're avoiding my question, (in a pathetically unfunny attempt at humor), I assume you already know how full of shit you are when you claim to care about historical accuracy.

Yeah it almost feels like a punchy Danny Boyle movie despite the grim subject matter.
