Reply to Boston-area COVID wastewater data spikes 88% by d5dq
Every year the highest spikes happen at this time so it's no big surprise. Like with influenza, COVID definitely has a seasonal trend.

Reply to 'Second-class citizens': Boston officials fire back after Walgreens abruptly closes 3 stores by Omphaloskeptique
They should just spit out the truth that the company lost a ton of money due to the opioid settlement and they are cutting the low performing stores to maintain their high levels of profits.

They should just get rid of them outright. Massachusetts doesn't use temporary tags. You get your metal plate from the dealer when you purchase the car or register it first at the registry of motor vehicles before you drive it off the lot. It's not that hard of a system to implement.

Reply to Massachusetts should have a Tax Sugary Drinks. This would discourage consumers from buying products that may lead to chronic illness, and high long term costs to the health system. by [deleted]
Just like how taxes are so effective in stopping people from smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. Or how they are taxing marijuana to encourage legal sales. Taxes are just a way to think you are doing something when nothing is really happening at all except collecting cash.

Reply to Would Salem realistically have been able to develop a Halloween tourism sector without the Special Hanging Operation to Dewitchify Salem? by Apprehensive-Hat-494
It would be rather difficult to. The witchcraft connection makes it easy to develop Halloween tourism. Without it, there's little that connects the city with Halloween and the city would be much worse off. People might complain about the tourists, but Salem could possibly resemble Lynn without all of the cash that's brought in year round.

Reply to Anyone else heard about this? Aroostook Centre Mall is dead. by AthenianThief
That mall opening in the 90's was a huge event! Not having to go to Bangor for a mall experience was like the greatest thing ever! Very sad to see it go, but that's the mall trend these days everywhere.
