My husband and both of my parents work in local schools and all of them are under lockdown or modified lockdown currently. Fuck all of this.

These are the four books of hers I’ve read and I really enjoyed all of them.

Yeah, we were at the one on Banksville Road the other morning with family and they told my grandmother that. I tohought she was going to leave.

Eat n Park’s menu has shrunk so much, and being an ancient yinzer at 32, I’m over it, dammit.

I remember going to that late night breakfast buffet many times. As a kid, my aunts took me after we went to see *NSYNC at the newly-built Heinz Field. As an adult…let’s just say some late nights ended there, lol.

So weird. So many of the memories of…well, my entire life, including literally working at an Eat n Park in high school, wouldn’t be possible now. Hell, I asked my now-husband out at the Squirrel Hill Eat n Park at like 1 a.m.

I wouldn’t have made it through college without late night/very early morning Squirrel Hill Eat n Park runs. Are there any 24 hour Eat n Parks left at all, even?

Yep. Some places will just have virtual days, a lot will have “asynchronous” learning days where teachers post assignments online for kids to work on that day.

My poor husband spent all of last night refreshing the local news sites. We joked about how he didn’t even care this much about snow days when he was actually a kid.

So they did that by…calling themselves crap whenever they sell fast food type fare? Like I believe you but I’m not getting how they’re conveying that.

Also the idea that burgers and milkshakes are “crap” is snobbish in a way that I find off-putting

Unfortunately-and I say “unfortunately” because it’s my least favorite of the books—I think book 2 has some important character background that comes back in the two most recent installments. Probably not anything you couldn’t get from context but it helps.
Alexispinpgh t1_irt5q20 wrote
The first two books are kind of a slog. Book four is my favorite of the whole series.

After Prince died I ended up there on a night that was just a tribute to him, just a DJ spinning Prince and related acts all night and themed drinks, and it was amazing. Also as an ex-smoker I liked having a place to go that still allowed smoking. But we haven’t been there since like 2016, and never will go again. So I’ll just have that one fond memory.
