we don't realise most of the species that go extinct and we usually just care for big animals, sometimes just big mamals, what differentiates us from a colony of any with a mushroom farm that went sick to the point of extinction, those ant would mourn more, or at least be more sad for the disparition of this species and we would probably not even realise

Sadly not, human rights are not protected everywhere and in some places there are people that are not considered to be the owner of their body
