Everest is also far from being the fastest-growing mountain on our planet. The closest contender for the top spot is perhaps Nanga Parbat, a neighbour to Everest located in the Pakistani Himalayan range, which is 8,126m (26,660ft) tall and growing at 7mm (0.27in) per year. In 241,000 years it could overtake Everest to be the tallest mountain on Earth, provided rates of erosion don't change.

I always such statement a stretch when spoken with such clear confidence. Simple answer is that we don't know. We assume its hostile based on our own understanding of life on our own planet. There simply could be life that uses that high levels of radiation as energy source and be able to withstand radiation. Imagine a Silicon based lifeform? or something completely different than our own DNA based versions.

Specially when we continue to find life on our own planet in extreme inhospitable conditions where life simply shouldn't be possible.

People don't understand that all big corps have these kind of fines and lawsuits already built into their annual budgets. Meaning, it is already part of doing business for them. This means these fines and penalties are already accounted for in their annual costs and subsequently pricing which is being paid by the customers.
