Cabin parodies the trope. Most modern slashers have this trope played completely straight.

They already made a live action version of Uzumaki. It was okay but obviously nowhere as good as the comic. Not by a long shot.

If I had to have someone adapt Itou’s work, it would be 80s Cronenberg. The two were made for one another, shame that the timeline didn’t cooperate.
