You definitely can use a noun with a noun. Pizza place. Coffee shop. Soda bar. It's pretty common with restaurants and such. The problem here is that "jawn" essentially means "thing". So "pizza jawn" is fine, because jawn is replacing "place". But "bar jawn" doesn't work because no one in history has ever said "bar thing" or "bar place". "Bar" is always used as the noun being described, never the other way around.

Honestly, I think it'd be great if every time a mass celebration breaks out, the city should openly set up and advertise sanctiined celebratory events like this. Buy a couple dead cars from a junkyard and hold a group car flip contest. Grease a bunch of poles and put crash pads around the base. Etc etc. Just turn center city into a big adult playground for a night to direct and contain the energy (and maybe even raise some money for a charity).

It may be, but I'd be suspicious of the quality coming out of a single kitchen trying to keep up with the demand of like a dozen grubhub listings.

No worries, we'll just go outside and light some firecrackers every couple of weeks, that'll keep em out.

There are still pockets of that around, it's pretty block-by-block. But by and large, it's getting gentrified af. Especially around Clark Park / bordering the penn campus, it's getting tough to find anything that isn't approaching $1mil.

Buddy I'm not thr biggest fan of west philly, or cities in general, but if you think west philly is some sort of dangerous bombed out hellhole, you obviously haven't been here in decades, or possibly ever.
Specifically the area being discussed here is one of the nicest parts of town there is. People jogging and pushing strollers. Old ladies on porches. Kids playing in the street. And yes, people walking their dog. I can't think of a time I've ever felt legitimately unsafe here.
The real estate prices are far too high, I'll give you that, but that's almost exclusively compared to the shoebox-level of square footage you get in most of these rowhomes, especially if you have or want to start a family.

There's a huge bald eagle roosting on the radio tower in Havertown. It was just circling all day the other day, awesome sight.

I got Tom's chinatown for the first time recently and the sticky sauce dishes were SOOOO syrupy, like way more than even your typical American Chinese fare. I'd go so far as to say sickly-sweet, couldn't have more than a couple bites. Don't know if that's always been the case or a recent development.

What would you say is the cause then for a pattern of attacking total strangers unprovoked? What was her reasoning, in sound mind, for doing this?
