There's a reason why I didn't mention Connecticut...

Re: new places... If you've never been to New England but want to experience it I'd say the following for weekend trips... Rte 100 in Vermont: plenty of breweries and hiking in the green mountains. Cape Cod: it's a different world on the outer cape, whale watches, great beaches where you can see seals. Provincetown is a Mecca for the LBTGQ+ community, and it is fantastic for food, people watching, art, and music. Maine: the state is HUGE compared to the rest of New England. Acadia National Park is awesome but it's around six hours by car from Worcester. New Hampshire: White Mountains for hiking (leave Mt. Washington to the professionals), Lake Winnipesaukee for inland water sports, Hampton Beach has a huge boardwalk and a nice beach but be prepared to freeze your nuts off in the Atlantic Ocean.
Or... You could stay at home and bake the day away since pot is legal and dispensaries are everywhere!

Polar park is home to the AAA affiliate to the Red Sox. There are plenty of bars/ restaurants downtown near city hall and more on Shrewsbury st. There is axe throwing, barcades, parks, and various recreational things.
Public transportation. There are city buses which are currently free. Union Station provides transportation to Boston via commuter rail. This is limited in hours and does not provide for a night out in Boston with a late night return to Worcester.
If this is your first time in New England, everything is basically equidistant to Worcester... Beaches mountains, though not accessible without a car.

2nd vote for Palma's. My favorite is the Bello. Also Burncoat Pizza is awesome. The way they cook their chicken is delicious and not dried out at all. Their steak bomb will stop your heart, too. SO GOOD!

That's irrelevant to this issue. This occurred after hours. It wouldn't have mattered if there were 15 SROs on duty. I'm frustrated with the lack of communication.

I agree that WPS doesn't need to be responsible for the shootings. What I do expect is a brief statement saying "We are aware that a drive by occurred. WPD and WPS believe that there is not a threat to the community. When you drop your kids off, please don't get a flat tire on the bullet casings!"

Mostly Facebook pages... Again, not a preferred source. Would rather have a clear record from an official source, which is exactly what I'm looking for!
Unlike the rest of my life, I'm 95% confident in everything that was written.

You not being able to find anything is exactly the point I'm trying to make! All of this activity has been on the local neighborhood Facebook pages; not my choice for news. I prefer to use that platform as a keyboard warrior instead!

You will always have that type of silence being put up against the rumor mill of the neighborhood Facebook pages. Multiple people in the community heard the shots and saw the activity. Wouldn't it be best for some government entity (at this point I don't care who) release a simple statement to say this happened, We're on it, You can send your kids to school?
This helps to control the narrative as well as bolsters the trust between WPS/WPD and the community!
Radio silence only hurts them.

It amazes me how many people go there to pay their bill in person. I'll never understand that. Just think if these folks pay all their other bills in person, too, that's a lot of time each month paying bills.
It's 2023, even if you're "old" now it's not like there wasn't the last 20 years to become familiar with auto pay or bill pay through a bank or god forbid...US mail!
