Reply to Where to get Sun in the Winter? by Ok-Gift-7013
Eastern, Washington; Idaho. As others have said, parts of the Peninsula get more sunny days than most of Western Washington. Sometimes Whidbey and San Juan Islands will have sunshine when other areas don't as well.

Reply to I will visit WA in late August/September. Should I be concerned about wildfires? by John_Martson_isalive
Not as common, though they do happen. However, isn't always fires IN the park that are a problem. Access to a park can be cut off because of brush fires near the highways or entrances, or because it's approaching the park. Really unpredictable.

I lived in Ocean Shores and worked in Aberdeen. Aberdeen and Hoquiam are not really towns I'd want to live in.

Really difficult to make friends, especially ones who will do things with you. I see friends in other states who have friends joining them on trips, etc., and I'm lucky if I can get one to meet up for coffee.

And the freeze can extend beyond Seattle. Can be difficult to make friends in many parts of the state

For the most part. The "freeze" is difficult for an extroverted person.

Usually it's avail 2 mos prior to the next season, but as /u/doktorhladnjak shared it has been delayed due to technical issues. They haven't given an estimate as to when it will open up.

The spring season hasn't been made available yet d/t technical issues. They tend to only allow reservations for the next season about 2 months beforehand, but it's been held up

Not really. NEXUS gets you through the express lane. EID just spares you needing to show a passport.

The preserve in Nisqually is nice. Westport and Ocean Shores can be cool to visit. Millersylvania Park is also nice. Mima Mounds can be interesting for some people. Lake Quinault is quite gorgeous. Squaxin Park.

It's a mixed bag. Quite busy in many areas and expensive. Lots of green belts, though. Pretty much night and day comparisons really.

My dtr and I visited when she was VERY early in her transition (so looked very much like a male though she was dressing as a woman), and we had zero issues including when using a public bathroom (she went into the women's).
