US DoE-funded researchers claim a major breakthrough in dramatically reducing EV costs. They claim that using nickel foil as heating regulators allows 70% charging in 11 minutes, for batteries with a range of 320 km (200 miles), which will only need to be one-third the size of today's batteries.
