Is "Defenders of democracy" code for Hamas itp? This sounds like something a hamas supporter would say, given that this happened right after shooting up a synagogue

Hamas and the current Israeli government are both enemies of democracy. Defenders of democracy support equality, human rights, public education, fair elections and justice.
