Everywhere needs to.

Yes. But problem is it will only cut down on some of the cases. Many will test negative but when flying out 1-2 days later will be positive.
Still would be better to reduce numbers of positive infecting everywhere else, but won't stop it completely.

A bit too late for that... the us already has a lot of people infected and decided to lift restrictions(covid tests, masks etc.) i don't see how they would start demanding covid tests for flights again only for china . Japan on the other hand still has mask mandates in certain places and other restrictions so it make more sense for their government to do it.

Have you been living under a rock since March 2020? People, regardless of nationality, would try to circumvent covid restriction, even if they had covid. People in the US were getting fake test results, fake vaccine passport just to go into concerts, spring break parties etc... You are just fearmongering by being racist.

With Chinese new year coming up and all the travel associated with it, every country should be doing this.

We have learned over the past 3 years that it is impossible to stop it completely, but it can be slowed down and managed. The U.S should do the same immediately.

It's actually not. Half of China's 1.4billion population is expected to get covid in the in the next months. Japan is just trying to protect their health care system and people's health in general of unnecessary corona cases brought by Chinese tourists and travellers.

At this point we only need vaccination proof.
Vaccines are effective (at least the big three of Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca). As long as they're vaccinated with one of those three, it's fine.

I don’t see how requiring simple tests from China would cause such a change of course? It shouldn’t. “Through March 25, 2023 - Covid tests required for passengers from direct connecting and interconnecting flights from China required”
There’s no need for any other restrictions. Simple test and deny entry outside of the airport.

And the US is still requesting proof of vaccination from noncitizens who are nonimmigrants. It's still based on the two shots (one for J&J) from before. Maybe that part should be updated to 2 plus recent booster (or 1 from J&J plus recent booster).

I don’t see this going well. Doesn’t China and Japan have poor relations anyway? This could cause some drama.

Really think closing borders from China would be wise.

Should require vaccinations. Get the jab if you want to get in. Get the second one if you want to stay.

The US needs to do this also.
