At the same time the US is pretty well vaccinated. So I imagine the requirement of being vaccinated by one of the big three here should be fine.

For most of the world, doing that make no sense.

There are already plenty of cases all over the world. Anything coming out of China now would make no difference.

The problem is herd immunity.

Western world is vaccinated enough with effective vaccines, and with actual infection cases, that you more or less have herd immunity now.

Adding people that are not vaccinated or vaccinated with far less effective vaccines (effective in this case means preventing transmission) could potentially break the herd immunity as they become carriers.
