BBC and conservatives are massive propagandists for the royals, for one. Whether complicit or not they defend them at every turn.

I totally agree. There's a quote in the movie A Bronx Tale this makes me think of:
"Mickey Mantle? Is that what you're upset about? Mickey Mantle makes $100,000 a year. How much does your father make? You don't know? Well, see if your father can't pay the rent go ask Mickey Mantle and see what he tells you. Mickey Mantle don't care about you, so why should you care about him? Nobody cares." - Sonny

Fair enough But Brits seem to endlessly support and accept this incredibly toxic mob. Look at the millions upon millions who go absolutely insane whenever ANYTHING happens with "a Royal"!
Just the whole thing. Crapping on about Kate curtseying to Charles other day...my god! How utterly, mind blowingly ridiculous.
These people are just people. Just people.

For similar reasons are people watch movie premieres and red carpets. For a similar reason as paparazzi mags exist. Its just famous people dont have the politicical weight of the royals. So watching them is not un-useful. I dont follow them but somethings its good to know. For example knowing the queen didnt show up causes one to know something happened. If there is a health issue..might be that. A health issue with the queen means some market moves, some changes in gov and staff. If we follow those we could see which companies would lose a bit of value but would over time as people, markets and consumers get used to a new situation and we might make money out of it.
If Charles had issus he are behind that would means those issues have a huge LOBBY type of force behind them. Even it ot a lobby just the prince at the time and to be king LIKES, truly LIKES these issues so he will talk about them to those people there and those people make the legislation. That is the importance of knowing a bit about them.

They keep referring to Camilla as “Queen”…is not the correct title Queen Consort…. Not quite a Queen

Yes but it is also easier to just say Queen.
