If Brazilian government is serious about protecting its natural resource they need to crack down on rogue companies clearing the forest illegally.
On the other hand, Amazon forest is so huge that it will be no easy thing to do. Still, it might help if more resources are allocated in search and destroy mission of equipments and if possible arrest the miscreants. Make it expensive for the companies to continue illegal logging.

I would like to invite everyone to go on google and look at the USA. There is almost zero land left that is not used for farming and Brazil is a nation that is continually developing its economy into one of the largest in SA. Before we can start pointing the finger at other nations who are trying to lift themselves from poverty we need to look at our own homes and our own consumption driving these trends in deforestation.

Most farm land was originally grass land. Of course plenty of land had trees on it, but it’s hard to eat trees.
