> Moldova has protested Russia's firing of missiles from its Black Sea naval force over Moldova to hit eastern Ukraine.
> Weeks after Sandu's party won a parliamentary election last year with its promise to strengthen Moldova's integration with Europe, Russia used its near-monopoly position as Moldova's gas supplier to impose a price increase and threaten a cutoff of supplies if Moldova did not make concessions to help sustain Russia's economic and political leverage in the country.
> The eventual outcome of Russia's war on Ukraine will powerfully shape conditions for other countries in the region where populations are seeking more stable democracies and integration into Europe - particularly Belarus, Georgia and Moldova.

That would violate the constitution, would be perfect but there is next to 0 chances Moldovan ruling party does it.

Change the constitution?

Still can’t believe at start of conflict Lushenko was on TV pointing at a map that included Moldova portraying it being annexed by Russia. I used to think Mussolini was the most incompetent minor allly in history….haha

If the first pro-eu ruling party starts changing the constitution it will start a dangerous precedent that future ruling parties who may not be as transparent in the future, will abuse for their own benefit. The current ruling party is the best thing to ever happen to Moldova since 1991. To start with I don't understand why the ruling elite of Transanstria are not blacklisted and arrested on sight by Moldova.

Oh no!
A dangerous precedent!
I am shaking!
A real dangerous precedent is allowing Russia to conduct a hybrid war in a middle of your country. A hybrid war that can become hot at any second as Ukraine unambiguously proved.
But some people never seem to learn...

They have Russia has too many pans in the fire. Burning their candle at both ends. When this is over, hopefully Russia learns and grows from this.

I think they'll need a revolution for that to happen

Well it's called total warfare I suppose, you don't exactly allow it, it's more like "fight fire with fire. "
