Anyways Europe has enough on their plate as it is at the moment, lots of investments will have to be made regarding renewable energies which will take time etc etc, getting into a trade war with China would be catastrophic right now (for both China and the EU). meanwhile the US wouldn't be affected as much.

Yeah cause buying Russian energy didn't prove itself a terrible idea. Better ignore the fact that the CCP is an increasingly militaristic, expansionist group who has openly stated a willingness to use force to resolve their "territorial disputes."

You mean because much of Europe went the cheapest route for energy and didn't decouple itself from Russia quickly despite obvious signs of Putin being eager to expand
