I could probably scrape together a decent looking kit just with the crap in my garage. I've got an AK, fancy mags, ammo, tac vest, winter gear. None of that means the guys at the front line have them...

Or more importantly... know how to utilize fireteam/squad/platoon/company level tactics. How to neutralize/block/suppress objectives; Or how to function as a team in any capacity.

It takes months if not years as part of a team to function at a cohesive and disciplined group. This is why before every deployment to a hostile zone, service members have 3-9months of predeployment training which consists of layered leadership aspects and scenarios. It also consists of multi domain engagements so that FO's can call in accurate strikes, Comm personnel can have accurate and assured encryption, infantry are trained on how to appropriately form armored vehicle screens, and (most importantly) to build trust and confidence in the people around you.

If you don't have a good team before the bullets start flying, you're not going to have a team for very long.
