India won't do that. It has honoured the water treaties for decades even through wars. So it's unlikely India would resort to such a tactic because it would cause famine in Pakistan.

India would never do that, even if down the road it would be a choice between widespread suffering of Pakistan’s people vs. widespread suffering of India’s people? And with climate change only getting worse this issue will get more and more severe with time.
Treaties are usually made and adhered to because countries want peace. War leads to death and suffering. But if adhering to the treaty would lead to more death and suffering than a war would, I’m not sure how anyone could be sure a country would stick to the treaty.
I’m not throwing shade at India. I just think when push comes to shove, and the choice is literally “our people suffering and dying” vs “other people suffering and dying”, every country on earth is going to choose to benefit their people.
