I was actually referring to the threat of these tomatoes gaining sentience and turning on their former captors (tongue-in-cheek). But your post is genuinely informative. Appreciate the info. šŸ™

No tampering, just cross breeding varieties.

I would assume tomatoes were actually chosen partially due to this. They are nightshades, so if something goes wrong they will be incredibly and obviously poisonous, rather than leaving anyone guessing.
