Well, combined fertility restrictions, changing economy and extracting citizens from their rooms to force into hospitals; may have everlasting effect on people to not want to return .. hrm.

That and their economy is growing fairly slow and their wages have gone up so they are trying to grow a middle class and learning all the problems with rising wages combined with their poor global reputation. As other nations can offer significantly cheaper labor the fact China has no real allies means people jump ship pretty fast and their middle class growth tends to be at odd with their authoritarian governing style. Then top it all off with having the largest population in the world right in the climate change red zone and China might have a rough ride ahead of them even if most ppl don't realize it yet.
