I would assume that the US, which is much nearer than China, has even more perks for Honduras and that the US are not going to be very happy about this change

The U.S. doesn’t really give a shit about it. Remember they have their own weird One China policy in which they technically only deal with mainland China and not Taiwan. Very few countries recognize Taiwan to be the real China still.
