I own a truck company in the states. The shipping rates were nose diving a year ago and have been back to pre pandemic rates for awhile. Meaning there was too many trucks and the competition in rates for available trucks was long gone. Fuel prices make everything go up. But supply chain problems is a load of shit and hasn’t been a problem for 8 months.

The first time I saw the results from a GC mass spec analysis of a few different margarines was the last time I ever knowingly consumed margarine. If I see it on a list of ingredients I pick a different brand. Scary part is that was before companies dialed up the imported contents to boost profits.

Butter isn't much better in inflationary terms, it's becoming a luxury. I'd rather go without than use margarine.

Chickens mature relatively quickly.

If you have to kill your entire flock of chickens and replace them with newly hatched chicks, they'll be laying in just over 4 months time.

Plus, if people stop buying eggs because of cost, it's not like you can store them and sell them later. So prices tend to go down faster than something that can be stored, like wheat or corn.

I wonder what inflation is on a flexible grocery budget. If you buy protein, carbs, fiber, vitamins, all enough for a family of 4, but don't just buy the same shopping cart regardless of price.

I haven't been eating eggs for months. It's not a big deal for me. Production will catch up and prices will go down again.

Are seagull eggs edible?

They keep laying them in my window (One of my windows opens up onto the roof of the building next to me). I don't want to eat them because I don't enjoy eggs but it makes me wonder. Do you think the taste of cigarette butts and garbage squeezins' it passed through to the liquid seagull inside?

Which ones? Genuinely curious, I am not aware of any bird eggs that aren't edible (as long as they don't have bacteria on the shell, of course).

Are All Bird Eggs Edible? Actually no, not all bird eggs should be eaten due to some birds being toxic. These birds include ones that eat insects causing the birds skin, feathers, and dander to contain the same chemical found in poison dart frogs, Batrachotoxinin-A or BTX:

Hooded Pitohui – from New Guinea. Northern Variable Pitohui – from New Guinea. Blue Capped Ifrita – From New Guinea. Little Shrikethrush – from Australia. Because these birds all sit on their eggs, even touching them would probably be a bad idea.

Other toxic birds include:

Red Warbler – from Mexico Spur-winged Goose – from Sub-Saharan Africa
