I, personally, like the height limit. People can go to Arlington or Baltimore if they want to build higher.

If the city wants a more dense and residential downtown, they could institute height minimums for new buildings to max out the legal height now, and convert all those ugly offices into apartments instead of trying to encourage the feds to end work from home.

A business district isn’t a thriving community; a community is.

I don’t necessarily think the height limit is the only thing that makes downtown feel sleepy. There seems to be a lot of street level property that is closed off office space, windows for more office space, or other dead uses. We need more street level activity happening. Yes, there need to be people above to support it, but some of the properties create entire dead blocks in some areas.
