Yes that’s what I’m primarily thinking as well…but just wanted dc options. I’ve never lived in DC proper, so wanted to potentially explore that. Made an edit with add’l info
If you like exploring restaurants/shops, I'd look at Eastern Market in Capitol Hill or Georgetown. Georgetown has the best retail in the city, plus many new restaurants have opened there recently. Just keep in mind it's not near the Metrorail and parking is terrible there.
Georgetown is fun but isn’t it also kind of expensive?
Some people are willing to pay for access...
Sure, but it might be difficult on OP’s salary unless they are willing to have a roommate.
You haven’t really provided enough info about your interests or lifestyle preferences to receive useful recommendations.
Great point, made an edit
If you like N Arlington and you visit fam in NoVa there’s not too much to be gained moving into northwest dc unless money is no object or you really want to be in dc
Pentagon City & Crystal City <= both are full of new apartments and older units. Tons of construction currently with plenty of new restaurants just opening.
I know these aren’t North Arlington but this part of town is changing quickly.
Court House in Arlington is nice.
Eastern Market is my personal favorite, but other popular spots are DuPont circle, Noma, navy yard, adams morgan, and around 14th or u street.
Glover Park, north of Georgetown, is quiet, very walkable to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Rockland's BBQ, etc. Lots of 1 BR condos for sale and apts for rent. Very nice.
If you mostly wfh you probably want a larger space which will be a cheaper to get in Arlington.
I recommend west of Logan Circle .
There are plenty of grocery stores + Street Market + YES.
Navy Yard is best for your age and income

You are probably better staying off in NoVa with a car. Parking is expensive in DC. What do you like to do outside of work? What are your priorities?
