Hotel, pretty unlimited budget.
I noticed dc has a hotel chain I stayed at in nyc called Moxy. It had a cute trendy vibe, something a teenage girl would probably love. I’m from dc and really enjoyed my time at the one in nyc.
If you got an unlimited budget stay near the walking mall. Get one of the nice 4-5 star Hotels. Close to all the monuments and museums. Safe and fun part of town. Can be pricey for everything from a room to an evening Drink.
A few options:
Moxy Washington, DC Downtown (202) 922-7400 https://maps.app.goo.gl/EcYby6biZWuBchzX9
Eaton DC (202) 289-7600 https://maps.app.goo.gl/455cRTF2rJ5gY1rt5
Tabard Inn (202) 785-1277 https://maps.app.goo.gl/2ai56DHdPokgTLxq7
The Dupont Circle Hotel (202) 483-6000 https://maps.app.goo.gl/SvyYKtgnadkrC7667
Pendry Washington DC - The Wharf (202) 843-1111 https://maps.app.goo.gl/4inyMroYkRvoNtUo7
I put this on my list for the same reason.
Thank you so much for quick response! I’ve read the visitor FAQ on this sub, but this is very helpful!
Thank you! I’ve stayed near there about a decade ago and was stuck at a conference at hotel. Appreciate your response!
You're welcome.
If you want to take her to nice DC restaurants like Albi (linked below) then be sure to reserve in advance.

Some museums like the Air & Space museum, the Zoo, the Washington Monument, etc. require free timed entry tickets that you'll need to book in advance. The Spy Museum, popular for kids, requires paid tickets.
The Smithsonian museums are moving to timed tickets so definitely get those now! Are you just doing tourist stuff or do you want to visit any campuses while here?
Yes! She is enjoying new foods in last few months so sight seeing and food, rest and repeat is our plan.
So far we plan on Smithsonian(s), a Nationals’ game, the Mall and unsure of rest. Probably Capital or Arlington.
I did see that and do appreciate the heads up! When we started to talk in December, I saw some of the tours for sale online said book now!
No campuses as she”lol stay close to home for college. Oh my, now I’m think about her in college.
Mostly tourist stuff and baseball game is all that’s planned for now.
I took her to NYC at Xmas time when she was under 10 and she loved it, so this could be a huge winner. Multiple mentions already bode well for a good stay.
Appreciate the insight!
The zoo is always a big hit too!
