I'm just making my own hoppin' john, sautéed kale and cornbread. Hope you can find some! Worst case is a quick run for groceries as it's fairly easy to prepare. Happy new year!!
Try something like: "new year's brunch near me" on Google and it will probably pop up all those listicles you're looking for. It does for me, but I'm currently not in DC so my results won't help.

Made some at home.
I’ve never heard of traditional New Year’s Day food, is this a regional thing?
Southern.
Maybe it's just a southern thing, in which case "traditional" may not be the best word.
This is exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you!
The collard greens look great!
Oh no I think if it’s a thing in the south traditional makes sense, I just hadn’t heard of it!
I'm from the Midwest - it's always pork and sauerkraut for me.
My traditional New Years fair is scones, langos, crêpes, with strawberries and raspberries.
The whole collards, black eyed peas and pork is new to me since I met my WV sister in law.
That sounds delicious too!

Pig's head and black eye peas here. The groceries used to sell them in Nova years ago.
