My personal scooter was stolen this morning at 11 am even though it was chain locked to a bike rack. I talked to the security guard that watched it unfold and she said it was two young kids at about 12 and 13 years old. My scooter has a broom stick sticker on the front of it. If you see it around the city, please let me know. I’ve reported it to the police already. It was a KQi2 Pro Gray scooter.

Exactly. If nothing else, OP would be able to find it in the bushes after the kids finish their joy ride. There are ways to hide air tags on a bicycle, and I suppose also on a scooter.
Maybe update the post with a pic of your own or from the manufacturer?
You should make it obvious it’s tagged. If they know they can be tracked, they’ll move on to the next one

Sadly this is why I never lock my scooter up, instead I’m the awkward bloke with my scooter in the store

If you show the tag directly, they could just remove the tag
So if you put an indicator/sign that it's tagged, that might work -- but in that case you don't even need to actually tag it.

Did you have the scooter locked in the app to stop a joyride? Or is that not a thing with the 2 series

He mentioned using a chain. Cable locks are nothing, small bolt cutters will cut them like nothing.
Chains are much tougher to break but the locks are generally easy to pick.
The kids can just use it as a kick scooter before they ditch it.
This is the only way.
If it’s mounted using screws that can’t easily be removed, they’ll move on. It’s about making your bike harder to steal than others
