We appreciate the OPs desire to try and learn about our culture by before beginning a mission as a British spy operating undercover as a British diplomat.
Maybe OP can clarify some terms for us Washingtonians (yes we call ourselves this even though it conflicts with the previous usage that we never say we are from Washington) these three come to mind, one is the name of the island I know but the other two? Political terms for countries that are both separate and together?
The British Embassy is actually in a really boring part of the District. The neighborhoods north and south of the embassy have way better night life than the desolate stretch of Massachusetts Ave. that the embassy sits on.
They have finally finished that mess of a paving project though. Good for a bicycle commute to tenleytown or a bus commute from the Maryland burbs. I'd go for a tenleytown rent controlled apartment right beside the Russian embassy, maybe OP is still watching this thread.
