well.. people from all over the world come to DC and talk about how friendly it is. We are definitely known for having good (albeit expensive) food. World renown chefs come to DC to open restaurants. Our nightlife isn't going to compare well to LA or NYC but that's really just clubs. There are at least 4 different areas in town that have active thriving nightlife and finally, our downtown holds the Smithsonian, national monuments, tons of retail shopping and restaurants so I'm not sure what you are talking about. Not faulting you for not liking DC but no need to dig at someone who just enjoyed visiting your city

I have given up on responding to certain negative comments at this point. I find it funny I’m being told I have a “romanticized” experience because I had a good experience.

What confuses me even more is the negativity and then willingly living there unless they can’t afford to leave.

People are sometimes just bitter. I'm glad that you had a good time visiting here, for the most part DC is exactly what you experienced come back soon!
