Hi guys,
I was recently admitted to Georgetown School of Continuing Studies, so I'll be moving to DC in January from Europe. I've visited earlier this year and I loved how the city felt – vibrant and multicultural – and I've done my research too, but I'm more interested in personal stories.
Is there anything that you learned about DC by living there that you weren't expecting? Something that's not obvious after the first visit, but grew in importance over time?
I'm not looking for negatives per se, anything that you think is lesser known about DC is very welcome. I also understand it's a huge city with lots of different neighborhoods, so please be as specific as you like.
Btw I'm 30F with a background in music marketing & communication, and I'll be looking for friends to hang out with soon, so if you can recommend communities, that'd be super helpful too.
Thanks a lot :)
