Agreed. I’d probably sit down for a second date. But I enjoyed the ambiance.
It’s got a tarnished history that may turn off some. I’ve also never really enjoyed their food (it’s fine, but there’s better Cuban cuisine around, such as Mi Cuba in Columbia Heights). I recall the drinks being decent, though I’ll confess I haven’t been in five years or so.
No.
Their food is ass
I've never been but my Cuban friends really don't like it.
Are you trying to impress your date?
Go to the one in Atlantic City at the Tropicana. The one in DC is not as good. I wouldn't take your date there unless you are going through the motions to please your parents/setup-er/ex you want to reconnect with/etc.
It's fine. I've been there a few times.
Don't do Cuba libre
It's a fine spot for happy hour at the bar if you're just meeting for drinks and a snack. It's not amazing but it has fun decor and decent enough happy hour prices
WHET?! There are so many better places to go…

I’d sit at the bar to make it more casual vs a sit down
