Pat Collins is a national treasure
Don’t forget Arch
I’m ashamed I left him out
Yes! All star lineup.
You have to give more details about this interaction
I was at a garden bar covering the US Iran game today when I saw a photographer from NBC 4. I looked around searching for the reporter, since a friend of mine works for them, and saw that Pat Collins was there instead.
I went up to him and introduced myself, said I was a big fan of his work, and asked if I could get a photo at half time
He was so nice and said yes, and we linked up for the photo after the game ended
Another reporter who was there, also a fan, got his own photo too
A DMV legend
Always enjoy his Snow Stick Challenge and the interesing snow contests (both dependent on how much snow we get, of course).
I've always wanted to know if he's aware of how much John Oliver and the Last Week Tonight crew love him.
Has to be, I hope!
I always like him. Remember Arch Campbell? He gave the funniest review of the movie Rocky. He said "You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll kiss 5 bucks goodbye".
If you haven’t picked up Newsman, you should.
edit: didn’t realize the title got split.
What’s News Man?
It is his book, his memoir. Easily worth the $20.
Available exclusively at Politics and Prose!
He seems like a fantastic guy.
I do remember him and the 11pm gang growing up in the DMV, but when he leaned. heavily. Into the Bill. Shatner style. Of speak. For his. Reports. it got old real quick.

I will forever miss the peak lineup of local news goat team. Vance, Doreen, Bob Ryan, George Michael (I used to stay up for the sports machine) and reporter Pat collins
