I'm in DC alone over the holiday and I'm a bit on the depressed side this year - any recs on things to do in town on Thanksgiving that might make it a little less of a bummer?

Ah I didn’t know that, cool! I’m sure you’d have much of the museum to yourself.
I'll hang out with you if you are up for it.
hi + op, i just got word i'm off work for thanksgiving !! (haha, newsroom joys...) i'll hang out with you guys, all my buds went home for the holiday but i'm always down to meet new folks !!
We have a spare chair at our table
If no one else volunteers or has any ideas, I'll play Fall Guys on the Switch or PS4 with you. 💕
I’m introverted and will be doggo sitting. I always opt out for the holiday celebrations… but alas I get lonely either way :’)
Maybe I’ll catch a movie. I want to volunteer but I think with my work schedule I can’t.
Oh a movie would be a good idea! I'm introverted as well and typically do Thanksgiving solo but I had a recent pet death which has been kind of a bummer. I did get some stuff to cook so a movie & Smithsonian might not be a bad way to spend the day
Sorry about your pupper death I can relate with you :(
I’ve been meaning to see the new black panther film but I may watch something seasonal instead. Depending on which theaters are open.
My family always goes to the zoo! The one year they weren't around for the holiday and I had to be, I went to the zoo by myself and had a lot of fun.
If you are athletic at all (or not), sign up for a local 5k turkey trot! They are a fun and good way to burn off that pumpkin pie.
Great Falls goat trail hikes are great and beautiful. Did that alone one year on Christmas when I first moved here.
If you’re a sports person, the Turkey Bowl at Eastern HS is really fun. We always hit up the museums, too. It’s a good day to mosey, tbh.
The pug will be open later in the day and usually has a good local crowd
Oh no!! Sorry to hear… if you’re not a creep you can come to my house we have lots of food
This post makes me feel good about not having anything to do. I’ll probably go to the zoo. And make a ham
I am planning on going to Natural History Museum alone, new to the area and love natural history museums!
Not much to say other than I feel u bud. I’m generally spending holidays alone and did that for the majority of my life away from home. I usually catch a movie and buy some food. during these holidays I usually bundle up and go for a run, chill by a bridge while listening to music and just kill time. Hope everything works out
Same here this year
I never go home for Thanksgiving because I'll see all them in a month anyway. I'm going to watch the Brazil match on Thursday from one of the bars near Dupont Circle.
See Glass Onion in theaters, it’s only there for a week. Or The Fabelmans!

It’s a good day to explore, the Smithsonian museums and National Gallery of Art are open on Thanksgiving.
