What the hell happened to 9th Street NW??

They put in these concrete curbs in the middle of the street so the left lane just dead ends multiple times. They repainted the lines so that nothing makes sense now. They got the bike lane in the middle of the street.

How’d they fuck it up so bad

The construction is not finished. The far left lane will be a protected bike lane. The 2nd lane is parking and a left turn lane. There will be 2 through lanes and the far right lane may have parking during non-rush hour depending on the block. I live at 9 and G and yes, it will be a flustercluck for a while. I’ve seen at least 4 cars hit the new medians.

The new (hopefully temporary) lane lines are ridiculous and dangerous. 3 lanes become 2 without warning. A lane will just guide you into oncoming traffic. The lanes will just hard shift over randomly but only about 50% of the people follow them over. Definitely going to be a lot of accidents
