Go here and report what you saw:

I saw one that from my perspective appeared to be on a trajectory to wipe out National Airport. I reported it, waited a few days, and they compiled a list of all of other sightings of it and were able to put together its path.

Instead of hitting National, it was last seen over Hampton Roads.

These types of sightings are often space debris (small sats, ejected parts, etc.) burning up on reentry.

I do some Sky watching. I usually catch a few shooting stars a week and dozens of satellites which you can see with the naked eye. Truly is amazing. It used to seem so far but then you realize it’s closer than you think.

Comets ≠ meteors. Comets don’t visibly move in the night sky. Probably a nice meteor if it had a tail, otherwise I would’ve said an iridium flare.
