Lol, I used to complain a lot about the DC metro. Then I took SEPTA when I went to Philly. I told my self that I will never complain about DC metro.

The Metro is one of the reasons I moved here from Philly, back when the main cars were the 2000 series with the wider, padded seats and carpeted floors.

I've had several rides on 2000 series cars this year, and the grubby carpets are still comfy to walk on and make the ride feel smoother.
