It's so annoying that the local coverage for a race that has 10,000+ participants and is the USATF 10 mile championship is what roads are going to be closed. It's all pretty much on parkland on a weekend!

Haha very funny generic joke making fun of a non-major sport. Maybe you can yell "Run Forest, Run!" too. The men's and women's 10 mile US record has been set multiple times at this event. It's a human achievement that is far greater than any of us will achieve but sure go ahead and dismiss it because you have to take a 15 minute detour around a park.

That's what bothers me about this article.

Yeah, he says this is an objective truth, when in reality it couldn’t be more subjective. Congrats on being the best at exercising!!!

That's great. If we apply that logic in reverse, I don't care about the mundane shit you have to do. We live in a society with some trade offs. You get the road basically every other day and get to make city life hell. This race can have it for a Sunday morning. Fair trade?

I mean this impacts people taking the bus, too, which I thought this subreddit loves? I can’t keep up with the narrative, I guess. Do we like increasing convenience of mass transit, or don’t we?

This article is about drivers of personal vehicles in the city, who we must all feel very sorry for because they MUST drive and have no other choice.

This is the lede of the article:

> Peak bloom may be over, but it’s not too late to have a headache driving in the nation’s capital while gazing at falling cherry blossom petals!
