Bought a new car in VA. Received DC tags, registration card and sticker and a strange sticker that indicates when next inspection is due (4 years). DC registration instructions said no other sticker on window so I cut S sticker off car. Now I realize the DC inspection sticker seems informational.

Anyone know whether the DC inspection sticker goes on window? Did I screw up cutting VA one off car? Can anyone who recently bought car tell me what proper thing to do here is? Dealership were a-holes so don't want to go to them.

Edit: SOLVED! Thanks to Reddit. The new car inspection sticker does not look like the usual DC inspection sticker. It is just a a square sticker with date punches on it. Thank you reddit!

You need your DC inspection sticker on the lower passenger side of the windshield. You may get a ticket for failure to display.

I did not receive one with my registration packet. The one on the car was from VA but was where registration sticker went so I had to remove. Are you saying I should have received one in mail with registration?

The inspection sticker will be installed when you get it inspected at the DMV inspection center on Half St SW (assuming you choose that option) it’s super easy. It goes on the bottom right hand side of your windshield. Get rid of that VA inspection sticker.

You are correct! It didn't look like the regular inspection sticker so I didn't consider that it was still a window sticker (and, in my defense, unlike the registration sticker it doesn't have the instructions on it). Thank you!
