3D police station is right there on V St. They should take it and try to contact the owner(by phone if the owners phone number is on file, or by mail if not).

Alternatively, I'm pretty sure you can just drop it in a mailbox and they'll try to get it back to the address on the ID.

Have you tried contacting who it belonged to? That’s the first thing I’d do. Try looking them up on social media and try to return it to them.

Hmm, I think the next course of action would be to give it to a police station but not sure if they’d do anything. Did you find it just on the street somewhere or was it near a business/metro? You could always leave it with someone who works there in case the person retraces their steps to find it.

Seconding those who mention looking for them on social media, in DC especially check LinkedIn and our neighborhood (I live within 1 block of Oyster Adams and Marie Reed) is pretty active on NextDoor so check those too!
