Hi, I'm going to a show this weekend at the Warner Theatre. Their website says they have a parking garage but that it does fill up quickly. I was wondering if anyone had advice about where to park near the theatre? Or if it may be smarter to take an Uber to and from the show (staying in a hotel in Alexandria). Thanks in advance!

DON'T park in the warner garage itself! Getting out is an absolute nightmare. We had prepaid for a spot, but they also allow people to come in and pay at exit when there's capacity. It's a set price so why you don't just pay on the way in is beyond me. We were on one of the most lower levels and because of the slowness of people paying at the exit, it took a full 60 mins to get out from where our car was to the street. Worst garage experience I've had. Metro or park in a different garage!

Use SpotHero to pre book a space in one of the nearby garages. There is one right across the street that is usually available on SpotHero, 560 13th St NW, but there's loads of others nearby as well.

Awesome, thank you! Had never heard of that app. Would you recommend doing the same for a Nationals game?

yes definitely-- look for the private homes selling their off-street parking, on Half Street and on Carrolsburg Place-- those are much easier to get out of after the game than the big garages are. Just make sure you park exactly like the homeowner's instructions tell you to. Some of those spaces are tight.

Metro is like 1 block from the stadium too btw.

Your submission appears to be asking about parking.

Your first resources are available here and here.

Unless you are in a residential area of the city, there is no such thing as reliably free and easy long-term parking. Please read parking signs carefully, even locals get confused sometimes.

Useful apps for parking include ParkMobile for street parking and SpotHero for garage spaces.

Visiting a friend in the city? Ask them for a free visitor parking pass from any MPD station.

Did you receive a ticket? Are you guilty? If so, pay it. Pictures and incorrect information doesn't matter.
