Your landlord needs to provide you alternative accommodations.

This! Even though he's making repairs, removing you from your dwelling, he needs to provide reasonable accommodations for you while repairs are made.

thanks for confirming. I left a message with OTA as well, so hopefully they'll get back to me with some details.

okay, so my official notice came in and he did not provide any info on reasonable accommodations (he didn't mention anything about that at all, even just about pro-rating rent.) is there a code/law/provision you can point me to about accommodations that I can use when I bring it up with him?

Have you spoken to your landlord about pro-rating your rent? You're going to want to have that conversation before speaking to OTA.

sorry, my wording was confusing. He is pro-rating rent for the two weeks that the major construction is taking place, but not offering anything in terms of alternate accommodations (so far). Is it sort of an either or thing? I get either pro rated rent or alternative accommodations? my pro-rated rent comes out to be around 70ish a day, which is impossible ti find a long term stay at that price. I guess what I'm looking for is something to be able to point to, to be like "hey, you gotta help us out"

The nerve of the landlord to try this is truly wild.
