I couldn’t find many things on this sub for this, so apologies if this is a repeat.

I would love to support students from DC going to college. I am not anywhere near the point where I can fund a whole endowment, but would love to help where I can.

Specifically if possible, I would love to support students from underrepresented backgrounds, especially in engineering.

Thanks all!

What an awesome person you are!

My (step) daughter goes to a program called college track. It helps children who would be 1st generation college students navigate 4 years in HS and prepares them to apply for scholarships and colleges and then helps them for 6 more years. Like helps them navigate college and then after college in looking for employment or furthering their education. It was started by Steve Jobs’ widow. Any donation would help more than one child. Or I mean…. My (step) daughter is still applying for scholarships! I’m not above asking for help.

  • step is in () because she lives full time with us. So to me, she’s my child but I am not her biological mother.

If there’s a university that you want to support I’d look at that. My schools alumni association administers a few scholarships, and underrepresented backgrounds are targets for at least one of them.

Otherwise I’d look at the local STEM magnet schools and reach out about a scholarship fund to give to.
