I've always been interested in learning more about flowers and floral design, mainly as a hobby but potentially yielding part-time work at some point down the road. There are lots of Youtube videos for beginners, but I would love to explore in-person opportunities as well for hands-on experience.

I work full-time so wouldn't be able to throw time or money at a long program that meets during the day Monday-Friday, but does anyone have recommendations for an evening or weekend course for beginners in the DC area? Or, alternatively, any place that might accept volunteer help in the evenings or on the weekends in exchange for on-the-job learning? I am not precious at all about the type of work, I'd be perfectly happy to do something labor-intensive or whatever might be needed.

I am certainly finding options for courses via Google, but some are quite expensive and it would be great to hear some local voices who might have experience in this area!
