We already got Tesla Q3 report though. My next question about your short thesis is does Elon need to sell shares? How many billions does he have from all the selling he’s done? Isn’t he buying Twitter with a group of rich friends/investors?

We don’t know the answer to many of those questions. My gut is telling me yes, he will need to sell shares. The terms of those investors could be “I need the cash next week” for all we know. Shorting TSLA rn makes sense bc it’s both a general market trend play and a volitile “other stuff going on”. Play.

It’s iffy as to what the fed will do this week. I doubt Powell would want the market to keep on pumping though so he might say something negative to create some downward pressure. Elon selling more shares can potentially be answer by the amount be made off selling shares recently. I didn’t look into the numbers so I can’t give you an answer.

My bet is yes, he will decide it is better to sell shares than get a loan for it considering general market conditions and specific tech industry conditions.
