You’re talking like a huge nerd. Twitter has cultural significance you can’t just replace that overnight. And you really think people won’t pay to get verified when they pay for Spotify, Netflix, and any other subscription service? Clout is the only form of currency in social media and to most verified accounts, that would be a business expense.

Lol so why aren't there more than 300k total verified users right now, when it's free? That's less than 1% of daily active users. That number isn't going to suddenly drastically increase "for clout" especially now that you have to pay for that "clout". It's absurd.

Who knows what the criteria to be verified is. Maybe Elon will update the t&a

Lol. Why does it need to be overnight. Twitter currently doesn’t turn a profit.
If they don’t get to that it doesn’t matter how long they take it will fail. It can be a slow bleed ans I can still be right.
Silly.

Lol. Are you 2 days old or just not paying attention? 5 years ago it was Instagram. 10 years it was Facebook. 15 years it was MySpace but sure this ones sticking around forever despite actively pushing people away.

All those platforms served different purposes. For the first source of breaking news, direct thoughts and analysis, and memes twitter is the only one in that space.

Each of them were the only one in their space at the time....
