Might want to get on dr wait lists now. You can always cancel later if things change.

What do you mean exactly? Wait lists to add a PCP?

Would want to have a Vermont doctor, dentist, maybe specialist as well depending on your needs.
When you call to ask to become a new patient about 50% will say “we’re not accepting new patients”, the other 50% will say our earliest appointment is 6 months from now.”
So, if you don’t get on the wait list (a/k/a schedule an appointment now), if you move here and have a medical need, your only option will be Urgent Care, which is OK, but I think it might be a long wait, in the Urgent Care waiting room, might be more germ exposure if the waiting room is significantly more crowded (though you maybe could wait in your car?) - and it’s better to leave Urgent Care for emergencies, not routine care, right?

Thanks, and that sucks.

6 months? That's awesome. Looking at 12 to 13 months right now for dental cleanings here in Southern Vermont.

Good point, what’s the average wait?

At least 6 months? 🤷🏼♀️

I had to wait only a month. There are people accepting new patients you just have to look around.

If you are new to the state it's easier to get into a practice. If you're already here and trying to switch, they won't take you. You'll probably be ok.
